THE STREETS OF MINARDI MANAGEMENT AND DAVIDE RIGON SPLIT UP


After nine years full of successes in major championships, both within national and international borders, the manager from Faenza Giovanni Minardi and Ferrari driver Davide Rigon announce the end of their collaboration.

A pair that counts four drivers’ titles, thanks to double seals in F3000 in 2007 and Superleague Formula in 2008 and 2010, more than twenty successes and the landing at the court of Ferrari Racing Team, attending Rookye-tests in Silverstone and Magny-Course at the wheel of Ferrari F2012 and F138. In 2005, at the age of 18, thanks to Minardi F1 Team of Mr. Gian Carlo Minardi, it comes the debut in Formula 1 on Vallelunga track. There are satisfactions also in GT races, with victory in the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps of FIA GT World Championship, at the wheel of Ferrari F430, in Blancpain Endurance Series, International GT Open always with Prancing Horse Team, until the arrival to the Endurance World Championship, FIA WEC, with official Ferrari F458 of AF Corse. The most suffered year remains the 2011, marked by the terrible accident in Turkey during the opening round of GP2 Main Series, with the fracture of tibia and fibula.

Giovanni Minardi: “As in everything, there is a beginning and an end. This adventure has come to its end and it’s time for Davide to walk with his legs. In these recent years, we have gained many successes, despite the difficulties in recovering economic resources. Minardi Management followed Rigon since 2006, starting with the title of vice-champion of Formula 3 Italy, coming to cross the gates of Maranello as test driver at the disposal of Ferrari Racing Team for development activities of the car and for other sporting and commercial activities, as well as official driver in FIA WEC World Championship. I wish Davide a successful career and a Happy Christmas to him and his family”.
