MUGELLO: BETWEEN CONFIRMATIONS AND BITTERNESS
The weekend of 25/08 at Mugello, where Matteo Bergonzini returned to racing on the stage of the Italian Gran Turismo Championship, confirmed the competitiveness of the driver from Spilamberto despite it being his debut with both the Ferrari 488 car and in the category.
In the tests, the driver from Modena set several interesting times with the highest top speed in the overall ranking, demonstrating his ability to quickly adapt to the performance of the car and find the right feeling.
Unfortunately, in qualifying, the good things he had shown were ruined by an exit from the track, fortunately without serious physical consequences, but which deprived Matteo Bergonzini of starting from his sixteenth position and being able to compete in the race.
Despite the disappointment, the driver from Modena and his Manager Giovanni Minardi remain aware of the potential and competitiveness highlighted.
“I thank Giovanni Minardi and Dorothea who wanted me back in the race” – commented Matteo Bergonzini – “I’m sorry that a weekend that promised great things ended prematurely. Fortunately, only one big scare! We will evaluate the competitive future together with my Manager, Giovanni Minardi“.
