SAMMALISTO’S PURSUIT OF THE PERFECT SETUP CONTINUES IN IMOLA

Luka covered 530 km in a very productive day and a half, focusing on testing different setups rather than pursuing the fastest lap.

Day 1
The first day of testing was overall positive. The Imola circuit requires aggression and precision, so finding the right setup is never easy. However, Luka and the team worked hard, and the pace shown in the afternoon with old tires was very good. In the last session, the conditions were tricky because of the rain, but his pace was still strong. Overall, the work done was very productive, although some details still needed to be fine-tuned.

Day 2
The following morning, Luka and the team continued experimenting with the setup. The results were very encouraging, especially with new tires, so much so that by the end of the test, Luka had the fastest time among the team. Usually, this means sacrificing race pace, but Luka was just as competitive, if not better, during the long run sessions. As he is a perfectionist, he is never fully satisfied, but he definitely has enough time and resources to arrive at the first race in the best shape possible.

Next stop: Mugello
Preparation continues with two days of testing at Mugello. His goals will be to further refine his driving style, building on the good foundation laid in Barcelona, and to make good memories to put last year’s incident behind him.
