MATTEO BERGONZINI WITH SP RACING FOR THE ITALIAN GT ENDURANCE CHAMPIONSHIP

Matteo Bergonzini will race in the Italian GT Endurance Championship at the wheel of a Porsche 992 GT with the SP Racing team. The driver from Emilia will have the opportunity to prove his worth, taking part, after several years, in an entire championship, especially in a top-level category. The Italian GT Endurance Championship will kick off on the weekend of May 2–3–4 at the Misano circuit, followed by three more rounds: Monza, Mugello, and Imola.
The challenge is on: with the support of SP Racing, Matteo is ready to give it his all and show what he’s really capable of.

Giovanni Minardi:Finally, after several tests and discussions to decide which championship to enter this season, we made it, and this year Matteo will be able to compete in a full championship. For years, due to budget issues, we’ve only managed to take part in a few sporadic races, but this year he’ll be racing in all four rounds of the Italian GT Endurance Championship with a Porsche 992 GT Cup from Team SP Racing.
I want to thank the Team Manager, Eugenio Pisani, who made this goal possible.
I’m absolutely convinced that Matteo, with the determination he has to prove himself over a full season, will give 100% and bring home excellent results.”

Matteo Bergonzini:SP Racing is a young and professional team, full of enthusiasm and drive. The car is very competitive, beautiful, and meticulously prepared, though not easy to handle. The team’s approach was very positive. They immediately worked to make me feel comfortable and get me in the car to quickly find the right feeling with it. That gave me a sense of trust and confidence, which led me to accept the offer to take part in the Italian GT Endurance Championship with SP Racing. I’m convinced it will be an exciting year, with the chance to achieve great satisfaction together. I want to thank my manager Giovanni Minardi, Eugenio Pisani and Stefania Siliprandi from SP Racing, as well as my sponsors and friends for this opportunity.”

Eugenio Pisani (Team Manager): “I’ve known Matteo since the days of TCR, when he was a teammate of Fabiani a few years back, so I decided to reach out to him and Giovanni to try and form a lineup in the Italian GT Endurance Championship in the GT Cup AM class, with the clear goal of fighting for victory. Adding Matteo’s speed to the consistency of Dimitris Deverikos and Fabio Fabiani makes me optimistic about what lies ahead. I will do my best to provide the drivers with a car capable of performing at the highest level, so they’re in the best possible conditions. I can’t wait to get started at Misano on May 2–3–4.”
