ZACK ZHU CONTINUES WITH LA MOTORSPORT IN 2025

Zack Zhu will continue with LA Motorsport for the 2025 karting season. The 2012-born French driver will step from the Mini GR3 to the OKNJ category and will take on a program comprising French and Italian championships.

In France he will be supported by the Ludo Racing team (CRG France). The season will start in February with the Rotax Max Challenge France and Round 1 of the Kart Mag in Salbris. Instead, the French Championship will kick off in Le Mans at the end of February. In May there will be the ﬁrst of three races of the NSK championship, while in summer there will be the Rotax Max Challenge International Trophy in Le Mans and the French Cup in Angerville, his home track.

In Italy he will race with LA Motorsport team in two different international-level championships: some WSK races and the Italian ACI Karting Championship. In addition, he will try to qualify in the FIA Karting World Cup in Cremona at the end of September and participate at the Trofeo delle Industrie at the end of November.

Giovanni Minardi: «I am very pleased to have found an excellent solution with LA Motorsport for Zack. Even if for only the second part of the season, I worked very well with Luca and I saw Zack growing excellently since he races for him, so it was an easy choice to stay, even because, in addition to working well, he has excellent material for the category: Parolin chassis and TM/GFR engine. I am sure that excellent results will come during the 2025 season».

NILAS MALIK JOINS MINARDI MANAGEMENT

The 12-year-old Dane showed exceptional talent during the 2024 season. His great speed, combined with great passion and will power, make him the ideal profile for the Minardi Management. The decision to sign Nilas came at the IAME Warrior Finals in Zuera. Despite finishing P24, he proved to have sensational speed, even managing to set faster times than the leaders.

🎤Giovanni Minardi: «We are very excited to have found an agreement with Nilas and his family. After observing him in 2024, where he set extremely fast times on track, we tried to bring him in our agency. That’s because there are very few drivers with enough natural talent to be fast even with little experience. This year, Nilas has a very busy schedule, which we’ll reveal soon. We are sure he can be one of the main protagonists in his category. We’re looking forward to starting to work with him on track and to giving him all our support to push his sporting career to the maximum».

🇮🇹 - LA CONCA - WSK SUPER MASTER SERIES ROUND 1

The official collective tests at La Conca offered an excellent preview of the 2025 WSK Promotion season ahead of the first event of the year, the WSK Super Master Series, which will take place from January 22nd to 26th, 2025, featuring the MINI, OK, OKJ, OKNJ, and KZ2 categories. The 20th season of WSK Promotion will kick off from the splendid location of the La Conca International Circuit, where it all began back in 2006, after 19 years and over 170 WSK karting events with more than 34,000 participants from 2006 to 2024.

The 2025 WSK Super Master Series, with the MINI, OK, OKJ, OKNJ, and KZ2 categories on track, includes an expansion to 5 rounds, on the prestigious karting tracks of the International Circuit La Conca (26/01/25), International Circuit Napoli in Sarno (09/02/25), South Garda Karting in Lonato (23/02/25), Franciacorta Karting Track in Castrezzato (09/03/25) and finally on the renovated International Circuit of Viterbo (16/03/25).

This year, in the Italian GT, you fulfilled 3 dreams: becoming a racing driver, driving a Ferrari and racing in Imola. What’s the next dream?
🎤«It’s been a beautiful and important year for me. Rather than dreams, I would like to define them as“goals”, those that I have set myself and achieved. The next steps set are to always improve, to win as many races as possible and to try to compete for a championship».

When can you consider yourself satisfied with your career?
🎤«I’ll be satisfied when I retire (laughs, ed). I have to give my best until the last moment of my career, I hope I can be proud of what I have done».

What legacy do you want to leave in motorsport?
🎤«I hope to become somebody, so I can leave a legacy in motorsport (laughs, ed). What I recommend to all the young people who follow me is to smile at the difficulties, my family has always taught me to look at the glass half full. Using difficulty as a lesson to be able to find motivation: a mistake is not negative, but an event useful to grow to become stronger».

What attracted you first to the world of motorsport?
🎤«My passion for motorsport was passed down to me by my family. My father and my uncle often went at a racetrack riding a minibike; I asked my father to buy me one for my birthday and I was satisfied».

You started racing very young, but on minibikes. What pushed you towards karting?
🎤«The transition to karting happened after my father saw I started going fast on the minibike. To change my mind, he thought of pulling me over on the grass while we were running: I was scared, but he still thought of letting me try a kart on the circuit, I remember it was a 50cc Easy Training. It was love at first sight».

How did you meet Giovanni Minardi and how did he affect your career?
🎤«I met Giovanni through my dad: he initially contacted him after discovering Minardi Management. At first he didn’t answer, but he contacted us later and we signed the contract after I was
examined by one of his scouts in Siena. For me he’s essential, because he has years of experience in motorsport. He’s an important point of reference for my career and will be for a long time. I hope our collaboration can last as long as possible».

What is one lesson you learned in the paddock that you can apply in your daily life?
🎤«An important lesson that the paddock gave me is to always smile even in the face of difficulties, because getting down doesn’t solve anything. You always have to believe in what you do».

You play the drums in your free time. What kind of music do you play and listen to?
🎤«I play the drums in my free time, it’s my second passion after racing. Playing such an instrument, I really appreciate rock: it’s a kind of music with which I can let off steam, even if I listen to all genres».

Which movie describes you best?
🎤«“Rush”, because it represents my passion for motorsport».

🎤«The transition to karting happened after my father saw I started going fast on the minibike. To change my mind, he thought of pulling me over on the grass while we were running: I was scared, but he still thought of letting me try a kart on the circuit, I remember it was a 50cc Easy Training. It was love at first sight».

How did you meet Giovanni Minardi and how did he affect your career?
🎤«I met Giovanni through my dad: he initially contacted him after discovering Minardi Management. At first he didn’t answer, but he contacted us later and we signed the contract after I was
examined by one of his scouts in Siena. For me he’s essential, because he has years of experience in motorsport. He’s an important point of reference for my career and will be for a long time. I hope our collaboration can last as long as possible».

What is one lesson you learned in the paddock that you can apply in your daily life?
🎤«An important lesson that the paddock gave me is to always smile even in the face of difficulties, because getting down doesn’t solve anything. You always have to believe in what you do».

You play the drums in your free time. What kind of music do you play and listen to?
🎤«I play the drums in my free time, it’s my second passion after racing. Playing such an instrument, I really appreciate rock: it’s a kind of music with which I can let off steam, even if I listen to all genres».

Which movie describes you best?
🎤«“Rush”, because it represents my passion for motorsport».

Vladimir Ivannikov will race with Birelart in the 2025 karting season. The 2010-born driver from Moscow will make his debut in the OK category, a new challenge towards the big step to single-seaters. In 2025, he will take on the CIK FIA European and World Championships, the Champions of the Future and the WSK Super Master Series and Final Cup.

The 16-year-old Lithuanian signed with VDK Racing to take on his sophomore year in the OK category. After a very positive 2024 season, Markas will try to get back on the podium of the Champions of the Future Academy Program. In addition, he will take advantage of the experience gathered last year to establish himself as a top driver in the CIK FIA European and World championships, the WSK Euro Series and the Champions of the Future.
