VALENTINO MINI BRINGS PANAMA TO THE FIA MOTORSPORT GAMES

The countdown has begun to the FIA Motorsport Games 2022 scheduled for October 26 – 30.

The second edition will be hosted by the French city of Marseilles and will see drivers from 80 countries in action as they challenge each other for the Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals with the colours of their countries in a programme that includes the 17 most prestigious categories in the panorama of Motorsport including Rally, Gran Turismo, Endurance, Formula 4, Karting and Drifting.

Defending the colours of Panama will be the promising young driver of Italian origin Valentino Mini, already the protagonist of the French Formula 4 Championship that will end on October 16 at Le Castellet.

Valentino will be one of the protagonists on the Paul Ricard track that last month was the stage of the 12th round of rhe Formula 1 World Championship won by Max Verstappen ahead of the seven times World Champion Lewis Hamilton. He will be at the wheel of the Formula 4 (KC MG01) hybrid that in 2019 made its debut in the first edition of the FIA Motorsport Games in Vallelunga, Italy. The monocoque and the structural parts are made of carbon fibre composite and powered by a 1.4, 176 Hp turbo engine (KG MG01) with a 12 kW battery.

For the FIA Motorsport Games the focus of Formula 4 is really on the driver. All the cars competing on the Paul Ricard Circuit will have identical specifications and set ups and all the drivers and engineers will have access to the data of every competitor.

The engines will be switched on on Friday 28 October with the 45 minute free practice session. There will be a 25 minute qualifying session and a qualifying race of 20 minutes on Saturday 29 October with the main race of 30 minutes for the Gold, Silver and Bronze medals is scheduled for Sunday 30 October.

Valention Mini “I’m proud and excited to be able to represent PANAMA in a context as prestigious as the FIA Motorsport Games that attracts highly valued drivers from all over the world. It will certainly be a great responsibility since I am the only driver from Panama, but, at the same time, it will be a further boost to give my all and to achieve a great result on a track of the caliber of Le Castellet that has seen champions such as Verstappen, Hamilton and Leclerc race.

Giovanni Minardi – CEO Minardi Management “For Valentino it will be the most important appointment of the season and being able to be present at the FIA Motorsport Games under the the Panamanian flag is a real honour. Despite the aspects of a complicated weekend I am sure he will know how to give prestige to the country by achieving a positive result”

FIA WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP | JAMES EGOZI “PROUD OF WHAT I ACCOMPLISHED”

James Egozi (IOk) greets the Naples circuit satisfied with the work and the results achieved in the Fia World Championship.

James Egozi “The 2022 FIA World Championships didn’t go exactly as planned. We battled the weather on Friday and unfortunately qualified 59th. I didn’t give up on Saturday, having made my way back to 25th overall in the heats, until a crash on the final heat put me back to 38th.On Sunday, I was determined to make the final. With an 11th in the Superheat, I was set to start 33rd.
After a long 20 laps of hard racing, I was able to gain a total of 22 places to cap off the week with an 11th out of 90.All things considered, I leave this years World Championship with my head held up high, proud of what I accomplished”

FRENCH F4 – GRIT AND DETERMINATION FOR VALENTINO MINI AT MAGNY-COURS

After Nogato and Pau Ville this weekend Valentino Mini got to know the demanding Magny-Cours track, the third of seven rounds scheduled for the French Formula 4 Championship.

For the Italo-Panamanian driver it was not an easy weekend as he was immersed in the indifference of the other drivers, dictated by the lack of experience in this championship and with the track since this is his debut season. Despite the difficulties encountered, especially in the first sessions, Valentino took to the track with grit and determination managing to put together of good comeback in race-2, finishing in 13° place after the retirement due to a collision in the final stages of the first race. In race-3 he again placed in the top-15, putting together more kilometres and experience that will be useful for him in the next trip, to Spa-Francorchamps scheduled for July 28-30.

Giovanni Minardi “We knew that the weekend would not be easy for Valentino. Magny-Cours is a track with some complex points and the lack of experience with the track and the car made the difference in the result. Once again he managed to race for many kilometers, putting together a positive comeback in race-2 that in part cancelled the results in qualifying and race-1. Now we will focus on Spa-Francorchamps by programming some days of tests.”

Valentino Mini “We knew it wasn’t going to be easy but I am pretty happy because I have finished eight races in nine and stayed in the top-15. Too bad for the having reached the points zone again. Now I will begin working on the next appointment to improve my performance.”

F4 FRANCE – VALENTINO MINI IN THE POINTS IN PAU VILLE. NEXT ROUND: MAGNY-COURS

From Nogaro last weekend the French Formula 4 Championship moved to the demanding Pau Ville street circuit for the season’s second round. In its long history the historic track has welcomed champions of the calibre of Tazio Nuvolari, Alberto Ascari, Jim Clark, René Arnoux and Juan Pablo Montoya up to the seven times Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton.

At the wheel of the Mygale #77, Valentino Mini took advantage of the experienced gained in the inaugural weekend by taking his first points in race-2 thanks to the seventh place of the 24 entrants. Starting from fifteenth place the promising young driver of Panamanian Motorsport climbed up the positions reaching the top ten and finishing in seventh place that earned him the first points in the championship without making any mistakes. In race-1 he had already made himself the protagonist of a positive comeback crossing the finish line in twelfth place. As had already happened in Nogaro “Vale” finished the three races accumulating experience and kilometers that will surely be useful for him to continue his growth in view of the next rounds.

Giovanni Minardi “I’m very satisfied of the work carried out so far by Valentino. Since the Nogara weekend he has grown a lot in both terms of qualifying and in the race with seventh place. The championship is very selective with a high level of drivers, many of whom are in their second season. On the other hand, everything is new for him, from the car to the staff of the circuits. For this very reason I am doubly satisfied of the result achieved”

Valentino Mini “It was a positive weekend in many ways, both for the first points in the championship and for having finished all three races. Compared to the debut race I felt at ease with the car and this helped a lot. Unfortunately a collision in race-3 made me lose a number of positions but I took the car to the chequered flag in any case ”

Now Valentino Mini will go to the Magny-Cours circuit for the third round of the championship scheduled for May 13 to 15 that will also see many times world champion Valentino Rossi at the wheel of the Audi R8 in the GT World Challenge on the track.

Valentino Mini: “On the incredible Le Mans track close to the FFSA Academy I spent days of incredible physical and mental training, in addition to having the opportunity to drive. I will treasure this experience in the opening round of the championship at Nogaro which will open my first season in F4.
